South-East sets up joint security outfit EBUBEAGU

The South-East region has launched a joint security outfit codenamed EBUBEAGU.

The launch was the outcome of a meeting between Governors and stakeholders in the region.

The meeting, which had Governors of Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and Enugu states in attendance, also attracted Navy and Air Force Commanders, the Inspector-General of Police, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other stakeholders.

Imo State Government, which hosted the meeting on its official Twitter handle informed: “South-East Governors set up the South-East joint security outfit code named EBUBEAGU.”

The launch comes a year after South West Governors established the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps.
